Part 2 of Day trip with Bettina and Henrik

Before our lunch, we did take time to see the catapult weapons demonstration. There are two of them, one a little larger than the other. Soren was the announcer and I volunteered to be part of the work crew to pull the rope. He made it lots of fun but he spoke in Danish and German first and only a little English. The man next to me in line translated a little. We all had to pull the rope and keep running to the front of the line when we reached the back. We were pulling up the counterweight. When it was ready, we went behind the safety ropes and there was a bridal shower party there and he asked the bride-to-be to be the one to pull the final time to unclick a lock and send the huge cannonball from the sling, into the air and into the river. This was repeated with both of the catapults.

Later after lunch, they did one more catapult and then shot off some guns and cannons. We were to block our ears for the noise.

The bridal shower group. It is tradition in Europe to do a fun event together.
