45. Europe Bicycle Trip--Day 12--Goodbye and Hello

It is Mondya, April 28th and Sarah and Dane fly back to Canada after a whirlwind of exciting adventures in North Holland. While Sarah finished packing, Margot, who teaches piano played the wedding song of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima where she shed a famous tear because her father could not be present at this official function due to political relations of the past.
Then we took a last walk to the animal park.
A hello and goodbye to a local dog
Making our way through Schiphol Airport
After a tense moment with phone calls about Dane, and a prayer from me for the lady to overlook the overweight suitcase, everything turned out fine and a kiss and a wave goodbye. Thank you Sarah and Dane for coming with me. It was a very enjoyable time and the whole family here loved having us and spoiling us. Sarah and Dane had good flights home. Dane slept on and off and said hello to all the people waiting in line to use the toilet (WC) as one was broken and there was a long line going past them for the other one.
Margot and Ome Frits brought me to Hoofddorp and I said goodbye also. maybe I will see them again at the end of my trip.
Hello again to Carla and Dick van der Prijt
Their house from the front
Their house from the backyard
Prijtestein was built by Dick's father, my Ome Cor
It is a castle! History was very important to Dick's father as it is with Dick and also his son, Daniel who is keeping up the family tree.
Dick's house used to be a very old farm with no other houses around. His brother drew up these plans to renovate and build it into a beautiful house. Dick has done all the work himself. He and his brothers and sister were brought  up to be very hard working and did not have it very easy as they were growing up.
There are 3 old wells like this very close together on his property and he is preserving them all.
In years past his garage was an animal barn and the pigs went in through these doors.
