106. Europe Bicycle Trip--The Swaans

Today is Day 38, Saturday, May24th,2014 The plan for today is to say goodbye to Eljen and then go into Dedemsvaart to visit Lou and Trudy Swaan who are missionaries here  from the British Columbia area  of Canada . They are retired now and living in a new home for seniors. Then I will continue on to the Bathmen area to visit Ton and Lisbeth van Rijn, cousin of my friend, Caroline Pouw
Eljen prepared a delicious breakfast and we enjoyed it outside on her deck by the gardens.
Good bye and thank you for everything, Eljen!
Have a great trip to meet your adventuresome husband in Africa!
A very short bicycle ride brought me into Dedemsvaart.
I found the retirement home and parked Silver by the front and locked her to herself but there was nothing to attach the lock to the building. An elderly man in the common room opened the door to that room and after saying hello to everyone the nurse took me through the building to the back where the Swaan's live.
This 4 year old building stretches back a long way.
We passed by this cute couple.
Lou and Trudy (Lou took a bad fall a couple of yeaars ago and has trouble now remembering and getting around. He no longer preaches but is till able to participate in prayer meetings.
Daughters Betty and Trudy (Betty is visiting from Abbotsford, British Columbia and Trudy lives nearby)
They are able to keep their own furniture here.
They also do their own cooking. Trudy tried to find some other names of Christians for me. I also went out twice to check that Silver was okay.

Thank you for the visit, Trudy. The soup was delicious. If I had not made other plans for moving ahead, i would have stayed in the area for Sunday meeting.
May God bless you and your family!
