220. Europe Bicycle Trip--Hans-Teacher, Author, Painter

Today is Monday, June 30th, 2014 and Day 75 of my trip of 90 days. I have to stay here until something is done about my broken front rack.

In the morning, after breakfast, Alex, was picked up by a large van for the day.
Hans gave me a tour of his office and library.
He has a collection of small statues.
He also has a garment from a priest. As he was growing up, he as well as cousin Dick went to Hageveld for school and got to know many nuns and priests. Even now with his volunteer work at the monastery, he is acquainted with many nuns.
Hans is retired from teaching now and writes articles for a local paper.
He helped to write this article about the bombing of Nijmegen.
He has also written several books.
His photo and some information on the back of this book.
Three of his books
Two more books--" A Bookseller Must Be a Little Crazy" and "Woman With Dog"
Hans has been a busy man writing all these books.
This novel by Virginie Brac was translated from French to Dutch by Helene and Hans
Hans is a very big baseball fan and for a retirement gift his colleagues gave him this baseball photo with their own faces put in for the baseball player faces.
This photo shows Hans at his retirement receiving the gift.
We moved on from the study to Hans' art studio which smelled nicely of oils.
At present, he is busy painting inscriptions from old tombs.
This poster advertised one of his showings in 2007.
His photos adorn the walls outside the studio.
