Day 3 Tuesday, May 11, 2010 Distance 41.52 km. Time 2 hr. 37 min. Total so far 217.57 km. The promised rain that is all over still has not come down here but it is very cold with the wind chill and the wind was strong in our faces today. We decided to try to make it as far as Atlanta which we did with two stretching stops on the way. My seat bones are really feeling sore lately. The new seat is better for bumps but has less padding. Hwy. 33 today was very nice and smooth and when I could catch Dave I tried to draft as much as possible. It would have been too far to push on to Fairview or Mio and we did not see any good stealth camping places with overhead protection so we are at the Atlanta Motel. I feel like we are at the east coast already as the room is beautifully decorated with fishing scenes. The only problem is that we can't get the internet unless the door is open and the computer is pointed to their antenna. We hope to move on a little farther tomorrow between the predicted showers.

ReplyDelete230 km in 3 days is a bit much, don't you think- mom, tell that bear on a bicycle to slow down a bit!
