Day 109- Last day at Melissa's house

Day 109 Wednesday, August 25, 2010 Rest day at Melissa’s house. Dave and I rested in bed until about 8 am. What a luxury! Chris has been going every day into work to Colwell Nursery school that he runs to show new parents around and to interview prospective teachers and to work on programs and equipment. Melissa was playing with the girls. They slept much better last night. Later when they were napping, she and I worked on my bicycle to improve the gear shifting on the front to get ready for our departure tomorrow. I took Silver out for a test ride and it seemed to work okay. The rest of the morning was taken up with playing with the twins, putting on the beautiful frilly dresses that Aunt Caroline had sent for their first birthday and doing a photo session. We even dragged Dave away from the huge TV screen and a movie for a few photos with his grand daughters. After lunch, during which the girls tried a tomato for the first time, Dave and I did the dishes, Melissa made a lasagna and Kate dirtied her diaper and kept Isabelle awake. When they still weren’t asleep by 4 pm. we got them up and gave them a snack. After that they played nicely in their playroom for a good hour by themselves. Then we dressed them up again (poor girls) and did some more photos that ended with them crawling into the pool with the dresses on. It was cute because they started to suck their wet dresses. After a big supper of vegetable lasagna, and a bath, they went to bed. We ate, cleaned up the kitchen, and talked to Caroline, Amy and David on the phone. Dave went to bed early, Chris came in late and watched a movie while he ate and Melissa and I worked on a blog which by mistake has the photos in the wrong order (which I will correct later). Then I headed for my last sleep in a bed for a few days as we will probably be in a tent tomorrow again.
