Day 15- Flat tire 4 and Century Cycles.

Day 15 Sunday May 25, 2010 Distance 77.96 km. Time 4 hrs. 49 min. Total so far 979.75 km. Elevation climb today 5200 ft. Our night in the town park at Huntington was not very good as there was a party at the only house close by. They were roaring engines and had a bonfire and a dog that came to sniff our tent. It wasn't quiet until 3 am. We were glad to leave at 8 am. We took a break in Chatham at 9 am. The man from the corner store helped Dave with a route. Later we got lost near the Lafayette Rd. and for awhile we were on a paved bike path where I talked to a fly fisherman. Dave finally stopped and talked to the sheriff. By lunch we made it to Medina and saw a McDonald's where we thought we would get water but somehow enjoyed chicken burgers also. It was really HOT again today. When we came out----you guessed it --a flat tire on Silver but this time on the front where there was a small tear near the valve. While I was changing it, a guy told us about the local bicycle store and we headed to Century Cycles to buy some more tubes. It was a very big store and Tom worked on the bikes. Blackie landed up getting a replacement spoke and a new chain. Silver had a chain cleaning and a look to see if the brakes were set good. They helped give us map directions and before we left we were presented with T-shirts and had our photo taken. We continued on and finally made it to a bike path near Peninsula where there were hundreds of bicyclers on this beautiful sunny day. We stopped at the branch bike store there and that guy also took our photo. We finished the day by missing the directions to a hotel but I found a beautiful spot way off the road in the bush and camped with the wild turkeys there.
