At 3:00pm, after 102 km. and 5.5 hrs. of riding, we arrived at our daughter, Melissa's house on Bulls Rd. As I came down the road, I could see balloons on the mailbox. Melissa had also decorated the railings of the side door porch. She happened to look out the front door and got several shots of us coming down the driveway with her camera. We hugged a big hello. She has been one of our best supporters during this trip. We took some photos on the side porch and then unloaded the bicycles in the garage. Melissa's twins, Kate & Izzy, were asleep for their nap, so we had a nice visit together first. In the living room, there was a beautiful welcome back sign made by her and on each pillow, a bag of chocolates! When Kate & Izzy woke up, we went into their bedroom and sat on stools a little ways away so they could get used to us. They were being very careful, sizing us up. They have grown unbelievably, as we haven't seen them since January. They have strawberry-blonde wavy hair, bright, round eyes, their father's chin, and are very adept at crawling and standing, but not quite walking yet. Only Isabelle has dared to take a few steps. They have two rooms downstairs that are cordoned off for the girls, so we watched them play with all their toys there. Melissa's husband, Chris, came home from a mountain bike ride with blood and bruises. He had taken a good fall. It had been raining harder since we arrived, so we stayed inside and watched the girls have their snack and when it cleared a little I went with Melissa for a walk. She pulled the twins in their little red flyer wagon. Afterwards, we had supper, put the girls to bed, looked at photo journals and the " Who Do You See? books that Melissa has made for the girls and went to bed early as we were tired.
