Day 48 -Digby to Lake Breeze Campground-Denise and Wilfrid

Day 48 Friday, June 25, 2010 Distance 92.83 km. Time 4 hr. 56 min. Total so far 3435.01 km. We took Hwy 101 out of Digby and I took a few shots of the water, some sail boats for sale and mailboxes that are decorated nice. We passed Plympton and Gilbert's cove and did the Weymouth 8 km. loop on Hwy 1 which turned out to be very hilly. But we would have missed the Sissiboo River and landing and a water spring if we hadn't done it. Something on Silver has been making a lot of noise the last couple of days starting with a squeak and then now a click sound and it was aggravated by the hill work so finally we went out to Hwy.101 instead of Hwy. 1 and bicycled quite a long way on it and it was more graduated and easier on Silver who will need to see a specialist at a bicycle shop soon. At exchange 32, we headed back to Hwy. 1 and saw the Salmon River, Woodvale, and Port Maitland where we stopped at a little store. Two teen girls were there who I called the visitor information folks. Shealia and Amber put up with my antics and tried their best to answer our questions. We proceeded to Lake Breeze Campground a couple of kilometers away. It was a nice spot on a little lake. Later in the evening we met Denise and Wilfrid, two bicycle tourers from Sherbrooke, Quebec. They are taking the whole summer just to tour Nova Scotia so they have lots of time to see everything and go less distance each day than us. Denise has bicycled in the middle of France in the past. We tried a little internet beside the lake but it was too cold. Off to bed we went to watch the beautiful sunset from our tent.
