We all slept in a little this morning. Then we had breakfast together. Dick suggested an afternoon outing to see the New St. BAVO church and climb to the top. It is special because they have been renovating and the climbing scaffolds will come down in the fall.
Climb to the lightDick explained that the church has a combination of different styles of architecture from fancy Romanesque look to Byzantine architecture and Gothic because it took so long to build and they ran out of money at times. We were going to go in, tour the inside and then work our way up the tower to the top.

After the long spiral walk down where I used the flashlight on my phone to see better, we had a drink and sandwich at the church café.
Then , since Carla had seen the area where she grew up, from the top of the church, Dick decided to drive to that area and have a cold drink. We went past the house where Carla was born and lived with her grandparents and parents. Dick and Carla also lived in the house for 4 years and it is where Marnix was born.
Then we had a cold drink at a café Volgholsang

Then we went home and Dick used his Actifry for the second time and made french fries and cheese croquettes and we watched a serial on TV called Peaky Blinders. Then I went to bed as it was after 12.
