Part 3-Day trip with Bettina and Henrik

A new addition to the museum is an area in the woods called Griffenholm. It is based on the superstitions of the past. A Griffen was an animal with the body of a lion and the wings of an eagle. First we walked through many houses on stilts filled with old items of folklore. Then there was a walk through the woods with many signs telling of different superstitious characters and what they did and what you should do to stop them from hurting you.

In another section there is a teknologiparken, with different wooden apparatus to teach about levers  and fulcrums and how the planners in the past made things move forward, or lifted them up.

The afternoon demonstration was that of jousting, the art of knocking  another knight from his horse with a blunted lance. Most of the demonstration here was to show skills of knocking down apples from posts and picking up rings. Thankfully in the last run which was a real joust, no one fell or got hurt.

Bettina had a go on the big horse before we left.
We drove to Marielyst to a very beautiful, long beach that was very busy because it was so hot today. The town was full of tourists. We did a little shopping and returned home. It had been a good touring day. Thank you.
