Karlsplatz- The square is named after Grand Duke Karl Friedrich von Baden and is on the site of the old Franciscan monastery that was demolished in 1803. This square offers a stunning view of the Heidelberg castle. The square is bordered by Institute of Science |(Akademie der Wissenschaft) , the Mittermaierhaus and the Palais Boisseree. |

Collegium Academicum- Jesuit seminary built in 1750 , now houses university administration. |
Jesuitenkirche with former Jesuitenkolleg- Beginning in 1712, construction of the three-nave hall church in Baroque style took 150 years. |
Meder'sches \Haus- Sumptuously decorated 18th century mansion with Madonna and Holy Trinity |

Haus zum Ritter- The Knight's house was the only mansion to survive Heidelberg's destruction in 1689-1693. Since 1705 a tavern and today a hotel and restaurant. |
Marktplatz with Herkulesbrunnen and Rathaus- The town hall behind me took on it's present form in 1701. Bell ringing takes place daily just before 12:00 am, 4:00 and 7:00 pm. |
Heiliggeistkirche- Church of the Holy Spirit-The church was built between 1398 and 1441. |
